Every once in a while we will hear someone say these words: "Maids are humans too."
Usually said by someone who either never had a maid or never had problematic maids.
Insinuating, of course, that we should treat them as humans. Of course we should. I abhore those employers who treat their maids like animals, whip them, make them eat pet food off the floor, put a collar and leash on them......you get what I mean. Even animals should be loved and treated well.
Yes of course, maids are humans too.
I'm a human. You're a human.
Therefore, dear maids, since you're a human please behave like one.
Do not slap or kick or 'bark' at our children whom we entrust you with.
Do not squat horridly outside school gates while waiting for the kids to come out of school.
Do not make use of your off day to mate, as you're not here to make babies.
Do not ignore your personal hygiene and bathe on time so you will not smell.
Because you know and I know that maids are humans too.
