Parent talk

As I was fiddling with my digicam earlier and viewing old pictures and videos (I have a bad habit of storing TONS of old pics in my cam without backing them), I came across lots of pictures of Mikhail when he was still oh-so-little. There is a video where he just learned to walk, and was saying words like elloh(hello), daddeh(daddy), mummeh(mummy) and babby(referring to himself)......while making baby faces and expressions. Talk about nostalgically cute! I MUST back these files up somewhere before the memory card decides to go bonkers. I MUST! And I will! *makes a mental promise to self*

Children grow up very fast, sometimes too fast for us parents to keep up with their growth. Most parents nowadays spend more time working outside the home than be with their children - for their own good too, of course - but which result in lots of lost time, if that makes any sense.

We should be spending more quality time with our kids. We shouldn't just watch them play; we should play WITH them. Be their parent and their friend. Laugh with them. Share jokes with them. Make them feel loved.

For nothing is greater to an adult than the joy of being a parent...and nothing is greater to a child than being loved by the ones they love most - us, their parents.

So everytime you feel that little kid of yours is getting on your nerves or make you feel like screaming, just take out those old pics and videos of them, and realise once again how much they mean to you and how much of your life is all about them. You remember to back up your important documents, especially those that are work-related...but when was the last time you backed up your children's photos and videos?
